Santa Sabina Domincan School meets Summer Bay High
Story
http://daretowearday.gofundraise.com.au/page/AnneLennonHel
Hello everyone!
I'm taking part in Dare to Wear Day on 30 March 2012, so I asked some friends and family what they would dare me to wear and (oddly) the majority voted for my old school uniform?! Yes, the real thing. I'll be dusting off that Santa Sabina ankle-length, green and navy tartan kilt, green v neck jumper, white shirt, tie and green woollen knee-high socks. I'll be wearing the whole lot, all day - on the tram to work, in the office, to lunch, to meetings and out that night. I'm doing it to raise funds for a not-for-profit organisation called Fitted for Work. I need your support and every bit helps!
So... some good reasons to part with some of your cash:
1. Fitted for Work helps women experiencing disadvantage to find work and achieve financial independence. It provides interview training, transition to work and mentoring programs as well as free secondhand business clothing. The services it offers are very practical and really do make a difference. The women who come to the organisation for help are from all walks of life. Many are refugees from around the world who have come to Australia in search of a better future. Since 2005, Fitted for Work has helped transform the lives of over 6,500 women.
Seriously, I can’t believe you need another reason given how good the first one is… but other reasons are….
2. You like how ridiculous/embarrassing this sounds?
3. As an ex Santa Sabinite or convent school girl, you can empathise with how unbearably uncomfortable/hot/itchy I will be in the Melbourne heat?
4. You love me?
5. You want to keep me in a job?
6. You find it ..um.. sexy? (unlikely)
Thanks a million for your support! If you would like more information about the organisation and what I have been up to for the last few months, please read further below.
P.S. Yes, photographic evidence will be provided, unfortunately.

Fitted for Work
Transform the lives of women experiencing disadvantage!
Fitted for Work is an innovative not-for-profit organisation and the first of its kind in Australia. Our vision is financial independence for women and our mission is to help women experiencing disadvantage get work and keep it. Since 2005 we have assisted over 12,000 courageous women step out of disadvantage and into work through our personal outfitting, transition to work and mentoring programs. Our services are practical and effective. Today 75% of the women we help get work within 3 months. We have sites in Melbourne, Morwell and Sydney. Women are referred to us by over 300 community partners. The women we assist face a variety of obstacles – they may be exiting a domestic violence situation, experiencing homelessness, temporarily experiencing ill-health that prevents them from working, have a disability or have become recently widowed or divorced. Many are single mothers who need to support themselves and their family. Every day our dedicated team of 14 staff and over 250 volunteers help women gain the self-esteem and confidence to achieve their goal of sustainable employment.,
